About this job

This contract role asks certified inpatient coders to review hospital records and assign diagnosis and procedure codes, so that AI systems learn how clinical documentation turns into coded data. It is aimed at coders holding CCS or CIC credentials who can explain coding guidelines and resolve documentation ambiguities. No prior AI experience is needed.

What you'll do

  • Annotate and review inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
  • Identify principal and secondary diagnoses, sequence codes, and assign POA indicators.
  • Validate MS-DRG assignments, including identification of CCs and MCCs.
  • Give written and verbal feedback on coding guidelines and complex cases.
