About this job

This part-time role places chemistry experts with a leading AI lab to improve how models reason about synthesis, reaction mechanisms, and compound characterization. The work covers designing hard benchmarks and training data, grading model outputs, and advising on chemical validity, including SMILES representations. It is aimed at synthetic, organic, medicinal, analytical, and physical chemists with solid hands-on laboratory experience.

What you'll do

  • Design challenging chemistry tasks, benchmarks and training data for AI models
  • Evaluate model outputs and step-by-step reasoning, and give written technical feedback
  • Develop grading rubrics and verification processes for externally produced chemistry data
  • Advise on experimental design and the chemical validity of model outputs

Requirements

LLM
  • 3+ years of experience
  • PhD in chemistry (or equivalent research experience)
