About this job

This contract role asks a materials scientist to size nanoparticles and judge their morphology from electron microscopy images for a customer's nanomaterial evaluation project. The work is done by hand, without automated or AI-based analysis tools, and feeds into lot release decisions and expert reports. No prior AI experience is needed; the posting targets experts whose domain knowledge in nanomaterial characterization is the key asset.

What you'll do

  • Manually analyze TEM and SEM micrographs to size nanoparticles and assess their morphology.
  • Determine and document particle size distributions with a focus on accuracy and reproducibility.
  • Set lot-release acceptance criteria from technical reference cases and quality control standards.
  • Write reports on findings, methods, and material qualification recommendations.
